On June 11, 2026, the SACSCOC Board of Trustees approved a new name and brand identity for the organization.
Going forward, SACSCOC will be known as The Commission on Colleges and Universities.
It is important to emphasize that this change does not affect LOC's accreditation status. Accreditation will continue under the SACSCOC umbrella, and institutions will not be required to pursue changes to state laws, regulations, or policies because of this transition.
